The Outsiders Broadway Musical

Eighth-grade students will bring their study of The Outsiders to life by attending a professional Broadway production of the novel at Portland’s Keller Auditorium. After reading and studying the book in class, students will have the opportunity to compare the novel with its stage adaptation, exploring how themes, characters, and conflicts change across different forms of storytelling. The experience will also introduce students to professional theater and provide an immersive arts experience that complements classroom learning. WSVEF funding will help cover tickets and transportation while ensuring cost is not a barrier for students who want to participate.
