Video has the ability to motivate, captivate, and inspire. This grant seeks to leverage the power of video production, story-telling, student motivation, and student leadership to create a cadre of students at Columbia High School who can not only find an authentic and personal voice to portray their learning, but who can also lead others to build their own skills and understanding across a variety of curriculum areas.
Goals of the grant include:
Providing tools and skills to students across grade levels and curriculum areas to demonstrate their learning in video formats;
Creating a group of students who can serve as resources to other students and to teachers seeking to create educational video projects;
Encouraging production of valuable materials for real-world audiences, with real-world feedback;
Allowing two National Board Certified Teachers the freedom to collaborate across curriculum and grade levels and explore the power of video production as a tool for student expression and demonstration of learning.
