Art at Home
After our schools were closed due to covid-19, art teachers Patty Carpenter (WPSIS/HMS), Kelsey Lemon (CHS) and Janet O'Sullivan owner of Tokki Art Supply started brainstorming ways to help kids stay creative at home.
In early April, with help from a generous donation from White Salmon Arts Council and funds raised through a campaign by the White Salmon Valley Education Foundation, 400 art supply packets were delivered to students who receive lunch assistance through the help of our bus drivers and staff at our schools. The bags contained a pad of drawing paper, a pack of colored pencils and a pencil sharpener as well as a prompt designed by Patty Carpenter to help get the creative juices flowing.
