This grant provides funds for English Language Arts teachers at Henkle Middle School to purchase “high interest books for our students that reflect the diversity of our students, their experiences, and interests”. These funds support a budget for teachers to buy books that students want to read when the need/opportunity arises, thereby creating a high interest library and giving students access to literacy throughout their day.  “When students have books that interest them and time to read, they read more, and volume matters.”
