The WSVEF raises money through fundraisers such as the Gorge Grape Escape and through direct community donations. The funds we raise benefit our schools in three significant ways:

  1. Invest in the future of our schools through our professionally managed Endowment.

  2. Access outside funds by hiring grant writers to write grants for our schools and teachers.

  3. Give $50,000 directly to the schools each year during our grant cycles.

Endowment Fund

Mengis Capital Management has managed our endowment fund since 2008. Our long term goal is to have $2M in the endowment fund to ensure a stable source of giving long into the future.

Fiscal Responsibility

Our Board prides itself on being fiscally responsible with the funds the community has entrusted to our organization. We have a strong history of managing our funds well. Matt Hanson from Proactive Management keeps our books in good order. Accountants from Friend & Reagan, CPA, work with our Treasurer to file our taxes.

Financially the organization looks very solid and the accounting is organized well! It’s nice to ask questions of the officers and get appropriate answers/feedback. That shows Officers are actively and mentally involved in the Foundation. Also impressive to see the support from community members for this Foundation and the School District.
