Grape Escape 2016 – Success for Schools!

Thank you…  To the 220+ generous and dedicated people who took part in the WSVEF’s 10th Anniversary Gorge Grape Escape!   The entertaining evening raised more than $99,000 to benefit education in the White Salmon Schools!

Revelers and supporters turned out to the Best Western Hood River Inn where they enjoyed libations from AniChe, Maryhill and Syncline wineries, and Everybody’s Brewing.  Cheers rang out from the games, while students from the Columbia High School Jazz Band entertained attendees with outstanding live music.  Laughter and camaraderie ruled during the live auction and Special Appeal, while administrators, students and videos highlighted the impacts of Foundation funding in our schools.

Once again, our community has shown it places a high priority on our schools and our children.  The Wally & Priscilla Stevenson Family Fund was the largest contributor of the event, with a $15,000 donation.  They were followed by $5,000 donations each from Andy and Jaime Mack, Tami McLaughlin, and the Bruce & Mary Stevenson Fund.  Through the generosity of all of you, the WSVEF has provided more than $2.2 million over the past ten years — $475,000 through community donations and another $1.7 million through grant writing efforts.  And now we are launching an anniversary campaign to try and reach the $1 million mark in our endowment fund to unlock additional opportunities for our schools. If you weren’t able to attend, please consider making a donation online wwww.wsvef.org.

We appreciate your being a part of the Education Foundation, and helping provide our community of kids with a world of opportunity.
